HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION
NWS ALASKA PACIFIC RIVER FORECAST CENTER ANCHORAGE AK
300 PM AKDT TUE SEP 01 2015

...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

HIGH WATER LEVELS ARE MOVING THROUGH THE LOWER CHENA BASIN. THE
CHENA RIVER IN FAIRBANKS IS RUNNING VERY HIGH AND IS INUNDATING SOME
LOW LYING INFRASTRUCTURE ALONG THE RIVER BANK INCLUDING BIKE BATHS.
ADDITIONALLY... THERE IS VERY LITTLE CLEARANCE UNDER BRIDGES DUE TO
THE HIGH WATER MAKING IS IMPASSABLE FOR MANY BOATS UNTIL THE RIVER
FALLS TO LOWER LEVELS LATER THIS WEEK. PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST
HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.

FLOOD POTENTIAL IS CURRENTLY LOW OVER THE REST OF THE STATE.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

THERE IS STILL SOME JET ENERGY POURING INTO THE CLOSED LOW JUST TO
THE SOUTHWEST OF PRINCE WALES ISLAND. SHOWERS HEAVY AT TIME ARE
STILL A POSSIBILITY IN THE SOUTHERN INNER CHANNELS OF THE SOUTHERN
PANHANDLE MAINLY THIS MORNING. OTHERWISE BACK OVER THE NORTH PACIFIC
A DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE WITH THE RIDGE AXIS EXTENDING UP THROUGH THE
EASTERN BERING SPELLS THE BEGINNING OF A DRY AND WARMING TREND. MUCH
OF THE MAINLAND AND EVEN THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE WILL BE DRY FOR A
COUPLE OF DAYS.

...PRECIPITATION...
