Survey Summary: A very localized microburst occurred in downtown
Louisville on the evening of May 11th. Strong thunderstorm winds of
70 to 75 mph caused part of the roofing of the Louisville Gardens to
be peeled off and thrown to the east. Parts of this roofing
material landed on an SUV parked 10 stories below, destroying the
vehicle. No other significant damage was noted nearby.

Note: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to
change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS
