...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS AND SOUTHWEST COAST OF PUERTO RICO THROUGH THIS EVENING...

A SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTHEAST OF THE REGION WILL
MAINTAIN WINDS IN THE RANGE OF 15 TO 20 MPH ACROSS THE LOCAL
REGION. ALTHOUGH PATCHES OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE EMBEDDED IN THE
TRADES WILL AFFECT THE LOCAL REGION THIS MORNING, A DRIER AND HAZY
AIR MASS WILL PREVAIL ACROSS THE AREA LATE THIS MORNING INTO THIS
EVENING. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ACROSS THE SOUTHERN AND
SOUTHWEST COASTLINE OF PR ARE EXPECTED TO REACH LEVELS AROUND THE
LOW 40S FOR BRIEF PERIODS OF TIME. WITH VERY LOW SOILS MOISTURE
ACROSS THOSE AREAS...FIRE DANGER WILL REMAIN ELEVATED TODAY.

FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND
SPREAD OF WILD FIRES.

FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE APPROACHING, BUT NOT MEETING OR EXCEEDING, RED FLAG WARNING
CRITERIA.
