...A RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR
THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS AND SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS FOR
RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 15% OR LESS...20 FT WINDS OF 20 MPH OR
MORE...AND VERY HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER...

.Extremely dry and breezy conditions in the wake of a Pacific
Front today will yield critical fire weather conditions across the
Guadalupe Mountains and Southeast New Mexico Plains. Improvement
is expected this evening when winds begin to decrease and moisture
increases ahead of a cold front.

* WIND...West winds 20 to 30 mph and gusty.

* TEMPERATURES...near normal.

* HUMIDITY...5 to 15 percent.

* FUELS...Critically dry.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not throw cigarettes onto the ground.  Avoid activities that
may produce outdoor flames or sparks.
