...SPECIAL RIVER STATEMENT FOR THE LOWER SUSQUEHANNA RIVER...

FOR THE SUSQUEHANNA BELOW CONOWINGO DAM, THE LATEST STAGE WAS 19.8 FEET LATE
THIS MORNING. A SIGNIFICANT WITHIN BANKS RISE IS MOVING DOWN THE MAIN STEM OF
THE SUSQUEHANNA. THIS WILL RESULT IN NOTIFICATION LEVEL 1 FOR PORT DEPOSIT WITH
10 TO 11 GATES OPEN AT CONOWINGO DAM. THE MAXIMUM FLOW WILL BE THIS EVENING.

THE FORECAST CREST IS NOW 20.8 FEET THIS EVENING, BELOW THE CAUTIONARY STAGE.

NO FLOODING IS EXPECTED IN THE TOWN OF PORT DEPOSIT. THE CHANCES OF SOME
LOWLAND OVERFLOW BELOW CONOWINGO DAM AND ROUTE 222 HAS NOW DECREASED.

THIS WILL BE THE LAST STATEMENT ON THE LOWER SUSQUEHANNA RIVER UNLESS THE
FORECAST CREST INCREASES. RIVER CONDITIONS WILL STILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY.
