...FLOODING POSSIBLE IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON AND SURROUNDING AREAS
OVERNIGHT...

PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL AFFECT MUCH OF THE CHARLESTON METRO
AREA OVERNIGHT. HEAVY RAINS COMBINED WITH ALREADY HIGH TIDE LEVELS
WILL LIKELY PRODUCE AT LEAST MINOR FLOODING IN PORTIONS OF
DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS EARLY THURSDAY
MORNING...ESPECIALLY IN NORMALLY FLOOD PRONE AREAS. THE RISK FOR
FLOODING WILL BE THE HIGHEST BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 4 AM. HIGH TIDE
IN THE CHARLESTON HARBOR WILL OCCUR AROUND 152 AM.

THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT MORE WIDESPREAD FLASH FLOODING WILL
OCCUR AND THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON WILL BE
CLOSELY MONITORING CONDITIONS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. TAKE TIME NOW
TO MOVE CARS OUT OF AREAS THAT ARE KNOWN TO FLOOD. KEEP YOUR NOAA
WEATHER RADIO IN THE ALARM POSITION. ALSO...KEEP YOUR SMART PHONE
ON. IF A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED...THIS ALERT WILL BE
TRANSMITTED OVER NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND SENT DIRECTLY TO YOUR
SMART PHONE BY WAY OF THE WIRELESS EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM.
