...A FEW INCHES OF SNOWFALL POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS EVENING AND
TONIGHT...

A INCOMING WEAK LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL PROVIDE CHANCES FOR SNOW
SHOWERS TODAY ACROSS THE NORTHERN SIERRA AND PORTIONS OF
NORTHWESTERN NEVADA. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE FROM ABOUT THE TAHOE BASIN NORTHWARD THROUGH LASSEN
COUNTY AND MAINLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 THROUGH WESTERN NEVADA. A
FEW SNOW SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE FOR THE RENO AND CARSON CITY AREAS
LATE THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING WITH LITTLE TO NO
ACCUMULATION. MOST SNOW SHOWER ACTIVITY WILL DIMINISH AND MOVE
EAST BY EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.

ALTHOUGH ONLY A FEW INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED, THIS MAY
STILL CREATE TRAFFIC SLOW DOWNS, ICY ROADS, AND POSSIBLE CHAIN
CONTROLS ACROSS PASSES INCLUDING: DONNER SUMMIT, YUBA PASS,
FREDONYER PASS, CEDAR PASS, AND PORTIONS OF INTERSTATE 80 THROUGH
PERSHING COUNTY. SNOW WILL IMPACT THE EVENING COMMUTE TODAY, AND
POSSIBLY THE MORNING COMMUTE THURSDAY.
