...THIS WEEK IS THE 2016 NOAA`S WINTER WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK FOR

THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA...

The National Weather Service has declared, November 7th through
November 11th, as Pennsylvania`s 2016 "Winter Weather Awareness"
week.

Winter in upstate Pennsylvania and is filled with beautiful
sceneries, holiday celebrations, and many outdoor recreational
activities. However, with the beauty of winter, there also comes
danger. Winter can bring dangerously cold temperatures and create
hazardous weather conditions that can create many threats to life
and property if one is not prepared.

Please join us in promoting winter weather safety during this
year`s "Winter Weather Awareness Week". The National Weather
Service asks local media and Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors to
help join the force in improving the nation`s readiness,
responsiveness, and overall resilience against extreme weather
during the winter weather season.

The following topics will be covered this week:

Monday: Preparedness.
Tuesday: Lake Effect Snow.
Wednesday: Nor`easters and Winter Storms.
Thursday: Flooding and Ice Jams.
Friday: National Weather Service Winter Products.

We will be issuing public information statements on a daily basis
at 800 EDT. Additional information will also be disseminated by
social media platforms: Facebook at,
