.DISCUSSION...

A strong low pressure system will continue to bring showers to the
region today and tonight. The highest chances of rain today are
across western and northern parts of the state. Winds will be
strongest in the far southwest, along and south of Highway 12,
where westerly winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Elsewhere,
expect mostly easterly winds ranging from around 10 kts through
the Missouri River Valley to 20 kts along the Canadian border.

Medium chances for showers remain in the forecast on Wednesday as
winds become northeast around 15-20 kts. A warming and drying
trend is then finally expected from Thursday through the weekend.
Minimum humidity values around 25 to 35 percent are forecast
Friday through Sunday. The windiest day over this time period
looks to be Friday when northwest winds could exceed 20 mph.
Friday may need to be monitored for potential near critical fire
weather conditions, though forecast confidence remains low at this
time and fuels may not be supportive.
