...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN POLK...NORTHWESTERN
MADISON AND DALLAS COUNTIES THROUGH 1045 PM CDT...

At 959 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported a strong
thunderstorm near Dallas Center, or 6 miles west of Grimes, moving
northeast at 25 mph. Dallas Center Fire Department reported winds up
to 40 mph at 954 pm.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 99 and 120, and
between mile markers 125 and 131.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for south
central and central Iowa.
