Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
238 PM CDT Sat Apr 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Cool and dry weather will be seen through Monday over central and southeast
IL as large high pressure controls the weather pattern. Breezy northwest
winds will prevail through sunset today, resulting in very good vent rates
the rest of today. Northwest winds will not be quite as strong on Sunday, but
deep mixing heights will keep vent rates at good levels. Vent rates will
remain good on Monday, as breezy southwest winds develop during Monday afternoon
over central IL. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to move into
central IL later Monday night and Tuesday.
