210 SXUS46 KSEW 061059 RECSEW Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast National Weather Service Seattle WA 359 AM PDT Mon May 6 2024 .SYNOPSIS...Breezy and showery conditions are expected across Mount Rainier National Park through Tuesday. Snow is expected at Paradise and above through Tuesday. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in the park today. A shift in the pattern will bring dry conditions and steadily warming temperatures to the park late in the week through the weekend. && .IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry skiing and mountaineering conditions through Tuesday across much of the alpine terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions. && .MONDAY...Windy. Showers through the day. A slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce small hail in the afternoon. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 3 to 5 inches. Snow level near 4000 feet. .MONDAY NIGHT...Windy. Showers, snow showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight.
