.DISCUSSION...A ridge of high pressure will bring tranquil conditions
early this morning with gradually increasing southeasterly winds.
Winds will continue to gradually increase through the day as the
ridge moves off to the east and a unseasonably strong area of low
pressure approaches from the west. This area of low pressure will
move through the area Sunday and Monday, with a cold front moving
through the area Sunday afternoon. Precipitation will initially
begin as rain below 8500 feet, but snow levels will quickly drop
down to around 6000 feet Sunday evening and to valley floors
overnight when showers will diminish. Valley area of the burn site
may see up to 1 inch of snow, with 1-4 inches for higher
elevations. Cool, generally dry conditions will then persist through
the workweek with only slight chances of afternoon showers on Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday. Clearing indicies look excellent each day.
