Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
813 PM EDT Tue Apr 30 2024

...New UPDATE, AVIATION...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 813 PM EDT Tue Apr 30 2024

Increased moisture allowed for isolated to scattered showers and a
few storms to develop over the interior this afternoon along sea
breeze boundaries. A few areas of convection are still lingering
over the interior south of Interstate 4, but this activity is
dying down now with the loss of daytime heating. The forecast
overnight looks on track with rain free conditions setting in by
midnight, and some areas of fog possible during the early morning
hours, mainly over the Nature Coast counties.

A few minor tweaks were made to the rain chances for the next few
hours to keep up with radar trends. No other changes planned for
the evening update.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 813 PM EDT Tue Apr 30 2024

A few lingering showers or storms could impact southwest Florida
TAF sites in the next few hours around KRSW, KFMY, and KPGD,
dissipating by around 02-03z. VFR conditions will hold through
at least Wednesday morning. Isolated to scattered showers and
storms will be possible again Wednesday afternoon, but confidence
is not high enough to mention in the TAFs at this time.

.MARINE...
Issued at 243 PM EDT Tue Apr 30 2024

High pressure will remain across the waters with winds and seas
below headline criteria. The overall flow will be rather light and
variable over the next couple of days with a shift to onshore and
speeds increasing to around 10 knots with the sea breeze each
afternoon. By late in the week a more east to southeast flow will
setup, but we`ll still see a shift to onshore with the sea breeze
each afternoon.
