JUNE BROUGHT THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE MONTH OF ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES IN CONCORD. IT WAS ALSO LESS RAINY THAN THE PREVIOUS
MONTH... WITH ONLY 9 DAYS OF MEASURABLE RAINFALL COMPARED TO 17
RAINY DAYS IN MAY. A COUPLE OF SIGNIFICANT STORM SYSTEMS BROUGHT
HEAVIER RAIN TO CONCORD ON THE 13TH AND AGAIN ON THE 25TH AND 26TH.
OTHERWISE THERE WERE NO VERY HOT PERIODS OR EXTREMELY COOL SPELLS.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF 65.3 DEGREES WAS 0.4
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS WAS THE SECOND STRAIGHT ABOVE NORMAL
MONTH AT CONCORD... AFTER ENDURING 6 STRAIGHT MONTHS OF BELOW
NORMAL TEMPERATURES. THE WARMEST JUNE ON RECORD WAS 1876 WITH AN
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 70.3 DEGREES. THE COOLEST JUNE ON RECORD WAS
1903 WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS ONLY 58.8 DEGREES.

CONCORD DID NOT REACH 90 DEGREES IN JUNE. CONCORD REACHES 90 DEGREES
IN JUNE IN ABOUT 73 PERCENT OF YEARS. THE LAST TIME CONCORD DID NOT
SEE 90 DEGREES IN JUNE WAS 2009. THE MOST 90 DEGREE DAYS RECORDED IN
THE MONTH OF JUNE WAS 7 DAYS IN 1976...1966...1957...AND 1953.

CONCORD REACHED 80 DEGREES ON 16 DAYS IN THE MONTH OF JUNE. THIS IS
ABOUT 3 MORE DAYS THAN NORMAL. THE MOST 80 DEGREE DAYS EVER FOR THE
MONTH OF JUNE IS 22 DAYS WHICH OCCURRED IN 1949.

3.83 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL IN JUNE 2014. THIS WAS 0.14 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL... BUT WELL BELOW THE 6.78 INCHES THAT FELL LAST JUNE.
MOST OF THE RAIN FELL DURING TWO SIGNIFICANT RAIN EVENTS. THE FIRST
WAS ON THE 13TH WHEN ALMOST AN INCH (0.88 INCHES) WAS OBSERVED. THE
SECOND WAS ON THE 25TH AND 26TH WHEN 2.58 INCHES WAS RECORDED. THE
WETTEST JUNE ON RECORD WAS 1944 WITH 10.10 INCHES OF RAIN. THE
DRIEST WAS 1913 WITH ONLY 0.10 INCHES.

EVEN THOUGH THE MONTH SAW MORE PRECIPITATION THAN NORMAL... THERE
WERE FEWER RAINY DAYS THAN NORMAL. MEASURABLE RAIN FELL ON 9 DAYS
(NORMAL IS 11.8 DAYS). THIS WAS THE FEWEST RAINY DAYS SINCE 1997
WHEN THERE WERE ONLY 4 RAINY DAYS.

THERE WERE NO DAILY TEMPERATURE OR PRECIPITATION RECORDS SET DURING
THE MONTH.
