Expected This Week and Beyond...
The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Hydrologic
Outlook that contains forecasts for the following river: North Platte
A series of heavy spring snow storms across Wyoming is causing or is
expected to cause heavy runoff into the North Platte River system.
This will force the Bureau of Reclamation to release more water than
expected from the series of reservoirs on the North Platte River.
This includes Lake McConaughy operated by the Nebraska Public Power
The current observed and forecast stages for the next four days

Additional rises are expected next week.The extended outlook from
the Missouri Basin River Forecast Center includes a 97 percent
chance of reaching minor flood stage or 6.0 feet...an 84 percent
chance of reaching moderate flood stage of 6.5 feet and a 34
percent chance of reaching major flood stage of 7.0 feet.
Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor
rising water levels and be prepared for possible flood warnings.
