THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF NORTH AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO...INCLUDING THE
  FOLLOWING AREAS...EAST SLOPES SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...
  EASTERN SAN MIGUEL COUNTY...FAR NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS...HARDING
  COUNTY...NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS...NORTHERN SANGRE DE CRISTO
  MOUNTAINS ABOVE 9500 FEET/RED RIVER...QUAY COUNTY...RATON
  RIDGE/JOHNSON MESA...SOUTHERN SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS ABOVE
  9500 FEET...UNION COUNTY AND WEST SLOPES SANGRE DE CRISTO
  MOUNTAINS.

* UNTIL 6 AM MDT THURSDAY

* NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL PERSIST OVER NORTH CENTRAL AND
  NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO TONIGHT. IN ADDITION A SURFACE FRONT WILL
  ALLOW MOIST LOW LEVEL EASTERLY WINDS TO DEVELOP OVER THE REGION.
  THEREFORE...POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN WILL
  CONTINUE OVER THE SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...NORTHEAST
  HIGHLANDS AND PLAINS THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

* BURN SCARS...ARROYOS...DITCHES...LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND
  UNDERPASSES WILL BE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLASH FLOODING
  THROUGHOUT THE WATCH AREA. NEVER ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH FLOOD
  WATERS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO
FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH
FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
