THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPOKANE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHWESTERN OKANOGAN COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN WASHINGTON...

* UNTIL 715 PM PDT

* AT 451 PM PDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING
  HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO
  BEGIN SHORTLY. EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER THE TWISP RIVER AND LITTLE
  BRIDGE CREEK BURN SCARS WILL RESULT IN DEBRIS FLOWS IN THE TWISP
  RIVER DRAINAGE. THE DEBRIS FLOW CAN CONSIST OF
  ROCK...MUD...VEGETATION AND OTHER LOOSE MATERIALS.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  TWISP.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.

THE AFFECTED AREAS ARE IN AND BELOW THE TWISP RIVER FIRE BURN SCAR
ABOVE MYER CREEK ROAD...WOODS CANYON ROAD AND TWISP RIVER ROAD. HIGH
INTENSITY RAINFALL ON THE BURNED AREA MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING...MUD
SLIDES AND ROCK SLIDES. MOTORISTS IN AND BELOW THE TWISP RIVER FIRE
BURNED AREAS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND
PROPERTY.
