FLOOD STATEMENT

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas...

  San Antonio River at Goliad affecting Calhoun...Goliad...Refugio and
  Victoria Counties

  Guadalupe River at Victoria affecting Victoria County

  Guadalupe River near Bloomington affecting Calhoun...Refugio and
  Victoria Counties

.Recent rainfall over the area will keep the aforementioned
rivers above flood stage for the next few days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, local TV and radio
stations, or cable TV outlets, for the latest weather
information, as additional rainfall could affect crest
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for the Guadalupe River at Victoria.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:15 AM Thursday the stage was 28.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast:  The river will continue rising to near 29.5 feet
  Saturday morning then begin falling.

* At 29.5 feet, major lowland flooding occurs. The lowest homes in the
Greens Addition Subdivision in Victoria, the city park, much of the
golf course, including the golf cart sheds, and the zoo flood. A
fishing resort below Highway 35 near Tivoli floods, and many homes
above Highway 35 near Tivoli are surrounded by flow several hundred
yards wide. Hundreds of cattle in the flood plain below Cuero are cut
off and may drown. Riverside Camp Grounds in Tivoli approaches to
Highway 59 begin to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for the Guadalupe River near Bloomington.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 26.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast:  The river will continue rising to near 27.8 feet Sunday
  early afternoon then begin falling.

* At 28.0 feet, major flooding approaches the river levees near the
San Antonio River confluence. Miles of Highway 35 and the flood plain
near it flood, cutting off many homes and flooding a fishing camp
near Tivoli. Hundreds of livestock are cut off and potentially drown.

...Flood Warning extended until late Saturday night...The Flood
Warning continues for the San Antonio River at Goliad.
* until late Saturday night...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 29.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast:  The river will continue rising to near 31.8 feet by
  tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage late
  Saturday morning.

* At 32.0 feet, roads and several camp sites through Goliad State Park
flood. Moderate lowland flooding above Goliad to the Guadalupe River
confluence, cuts livestock off and potentially drowns them.
