Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Taunton MA
449 PM EDT Thu Sep 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Tropical Storm Jose has stalled well southeast of Nantucket and
will slowly drift toward the southwest the next few days. This
will maintain strong winds and scattered rain bands for a couple
of days, namely across southeast Massachusetts and southern Rhode
Island. Meanwhile, clearing and dry conditions will be the rule
for central Massachusetts and Connecticut.

The minimum relative humidity on Friday will vary with 80 to 90
percent across southeast Massachusetts and southern Rhode Island,
and 45 to 75 percent elsewhere. On Saturday, the min RH will be 70
to 80 percent across the Cape and islands, but 40 to 65 percent
elsewhere.

OUTLOOK...Sunday through Thursday...

High pressure will build in from the Great Lakes with dry weather
and warmer temperatures for Sunday and Monday. A cold front
dropping south from Canada, could bring a few showers for mid week
along with slightly cooler temperatures. There is still
uncertainty with the track of Hurricane Maria but the current
forecast has her tracking offshore and southeast of Southern New
England later next week.
