Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and
Northern New York
National Weather Service Burlington VT
407 AM EDT Sun Jun 25 2017

...Scattered Showers And Thunderstorms Today...

.DISCUSSION...
Dry weather is expected through mid-morning...then scattered
showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop over northern
New York and move northeast across Vermont during the afternoon
hours. Any of these storms will have the potential to produce
gusty winds...in the 30 to 40 mph range...and small hail. Rainfall
amounts will generally be less than a quarter inch. Lower dew
points over the area will help contribute to lower afternoon
relative humidities than we have seen over the past few days with
readings generally in the 40 percent range. The scattered showers
and storms will decrease in areal coverage during the evening
hours with dry weather expected overnight and into the first part
of Monday before there is another chance for showers and a few
thunderstorms Monday afternoon and night. Higher humidities are
also expected on Monday with readings only lowering into the 50
percent range. Gusty west to southwest winds are expected this
afternoon across northern New York with less wind for all areas on
Monday. In the extended...it still looks like chances for
precipitation just about everyday through the remainder of the
upcoming week. Thus no fire weather concerns are expected.
