Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA

.DISCUSSION...

Very dry air will remain in place overnight as a large area of
high pressure moves over the Appalachian mountains tonight and
into the Virginia piedmont by early Friday. This high center will
slide off the coast by Friday morning. A warm southerly flow will
develop Friday into the weekend ahead of a slow moving cold front
that should approach the region on Sunday. The next chance for a
wetting rain will be Sunday with the frontal passage.
