...STRONG WINDS TO IMPACT EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE MID STATE
THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS TODAY...

.AS THE SURFACE LOW CURRENTLY OVER WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTHEAST THIS MORNING...THE SURFACE
PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL TIGHTEN OVER THE MID STATE...ESPECIALLY
FOR LOCATIONS EAST OF A SHELBYVILLE TO LEBANON TO WESTMORELAND
LINE. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 40 MPH
WILL BE POSSIBLE...THROUGH AROUND 9 AM....ESPECIALLY FOR THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION. WINDS WILL
START TO LESSEN TO BELOW CRITERIA THRESHOLDS FROM WEST TO EAST
ACROSS THIS ADVISORY AREA BY THE MID MORNING HOURS...AND SHOULD
BE CONFINED TO THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU
THROUGH THE LATE MORNING HOURS.

WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG MAY
BLOW DOWN A FEW TREES OR TREE LIMBS AND CAUSE ISOLATED POWER
OUTAGES. DRIVING MAY ALSO BECOME DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
