URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
957 PM EDT Thu May 25 2017

...Gusty winds may down trees resting in saturated soil...

.Winds across the mountains are expected to gust in the 30 to
40 mph range through Friday morning. Normally, these speeds are
not conducive of downing trees, but the recent very heavy rains
have left the soil very saturated, and more prone to allow trees
to fall given a compromised root system. Falling trees may also
prompt the downing of power lines.
