...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THURSDAY...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 8 PM PDT Thursday.

* TIMING...Gusty winds will develop this afternoon and persist
  through Thursday evening.

* WINDS...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph along the
  mid and upper Sierra ridgeline.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will impact outdoor recreation along the
  Sierra. Winds may blow away tents or damage outdoor camping
  equipment. High profile vehicles will be susceptible to strong
  wind gusts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means winds of 40 to 49 MPH and...or wind gusts of
50 to 69 MPH are expected. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult...especially for motorcycles and high profile vehicles.
Use extra caution.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM PDT /11 AM MST/ TO 11 PM
PDT /11 PM MST/ THURSDAY...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 11 AM PDT /11 AM MST/ to 11 PM
PDT /11 PM MST/ Thursday.

* TIMING...Strong and gusty winds will develop late Thursday
  morning, peak in strength during the afternoon, and gradually
  subside during the evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Localized
  wind gusts to 55 mph possible in the Spring Mountains near Red
  Rock and downwind of Mount Charleston.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will create areas of blowing dust.
  Outdoor furniture and garbage cans may be blown over or blown
  away. High profile vehicles will be susceptible to strong wind
  gusts. Boaters on area lakes will be exposed to dangerous winds
  and waves which may lead to capsizing.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means strong winds gusting over 40 mph can make
driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

Boaters in the Wind Advisory area should use extreme caution when
venturing onto area lakes. Strong winds over the open waters will
make the lake water rough and hazardous...and may result in high
waves which may tip or swamp smaller craft. For your personal
safety...avoid the open waters. Stay close to shore or around
protected areas.

Advisory, which is in effect from 11 AM Thursday to 1 AM PDT
Friday.

* TIMING...Strong winds will develop Thursday afternoon and linger
  into the early morning hours.

* WINDS...25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will create areas of blowing dust.
  Outdoor furniture and garbage cans may be blown over or blown
  away. High profile vehicles will be susceptible to strong wind
  gusts.
