DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY...CORRECTED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
1142 AM EST Mon Jan 22 2018

Some light precipitation is expected today and tonight. Most of it
will be rain, but some pockets of freezing rain are likely across
the interior high terrain especially this morning, then again this
evening into early Tuesday.

On Tuesday, low pressure from the mid west will lift northeast over
Northern New England. This fast moving storm system will bring a
period of heavy rain to our region, along with strong southerly
winds across southeast Massachusetts and southern Rhode Island.
Rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.50 inches are expected.

Blustery and dry conditions with colder temperatures will follow
Wednesday and Thursday.

Minor rises on area main stem rivers are expected over the next
24 to 48 hours.

The lower Connecticut River at Middle Haddam continues to be steady
or slowly receding, but will remain above flood stage due to ice
jams. Slight fluctuations are possible due to the ice jams in
addition to slight rises due to the rain on Tuesday.

These forecasts include 24 hour precipitation for the period ending
at 7 am today, and forecast precipitation through 7 am tomorrow.
