...Continued Elevated Levels on the Lower San Joaquin River...


.Rainfall from January and February storms along with
reservoir releases will continue elevated levels on the Lower
San Joaquin River.

Forecasts are based on present and forecasted meteorological and
hydrologic conditions at time of issuance.

Unlisted forecast points are expected to remain below monitor stage.
All those affected by river conditions should remain alert for rapid
changes and for possible forecast revisions.

 Forecast to fall below monitor stage of 48.0 FT Thursday morning
then forecast to recede to near 48.0 FT Thursday afternoon.
 Monitor stage 48.0 ft, Flood stage 54.7 ft

 Forecast to fluctuate near 27.5 FT thru Thursday afternoon.
 Monitor stage 24.5 ft, Flood stage 29.0 ft
Impact for Vernalis...Near 26.0 feet, Severe seepage occurs outside
the levees. The area covered by seepage will increase as the river
stage rises.
Impact for Vernalis...Near 21.0 feet, Seepage begins into crop area
outside of levees.

 Monitor stage 50.5 ft, Flood stage 55.0 ft
Impact for Modesto...Near 55.0 feet, This is channel capacity through
downtown Modesto.
