Iniakuk Lake, Allakaket, Hughes, Bettles, Caribou Mountain,
and Gobblers Knob

...Heavy Rain in the upper Koyukuk River Basin...

Up to one inch of rain is expected through Thursday afternoon
over the upper Koyukuk River Basin.

The heaviest rainfall will be over the North Fork of the Koyukuk
River with around one inch. Heavy rainfall is also expected along
the Dalton Highway, and 50 miles east and west of the highway,
from Prospect Creek to Atigun Pass with around three quarters of
an inch of rainfall.

Streams in the area are expected to rise to near bankfull by
Thursday afternoon and remain high through the weekend. The
Koyukuk River will also be rising, but is not expected to rise
significantly at this time.

If you are on or near the streams and rivers in this area, gravel
bars may become submerged with rapidly moving water, and streams
may be come hazardous to cross.
