NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GAYLORD MI

A VERY WARM AND ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE GREAT
LAKES REGION TODAY THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. A WEAKLY ORGANIZED
BOUNDARY ASSOCIATED WITH A SYSTEM IN QUEBEC...WILL SLOWLY DROP
SOUTHWARD ACROSS NORTHERN MICHIGAN TONIGHT. THIS PATTERN WILL
GENERATE HUMID CONDITIONS ALONG WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN MICHIGAN THROUGH THIS EVENING.

A NARROW AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRIEFLY SETTLE INTO THE GREAT
LAKES FRIDAY ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE EXITING FRONTAL
BOUNDARY...GENERATING SOME SUN AND CONTINUED WARM CONDITIONS OVER
NORTHERN MICHIGAN THROUGH SATURDAY.

ANOTHER CHANCE OF CONVECTION IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES
SUNDAY...AS A STORM SYSTEM PUSHES ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND
INTO THE STATE.

HIGHS TODAY...WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 80S TO THE LOWER 90S STATEWIDE.

LOWS TONIGHT...WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 60S NORTH TO THE MID 70S
SOUTH.

HERE IS THE HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR NORTHERN LOWER AND EASTERN
UPPER MICHIGAN.

THERE IS A CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS TODAY AND TONIGHT ACROSS THE
ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE DURING THE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE MAIN THREATS ARE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE
HAIL AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. ISOLATE TORNADOES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE.

THERE IS A HIGH SWIM RISK TODAY...INCLUDING AN ELEVATED RISK FOR RIP
CURRENTS...ON LAKE MICHIGAN BEACHES OF NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN FROM
LEELANAU TO MANISTEE.

SUMMER HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CONTINUE TODAY...WITH AFTERNOON HEAT
INDICES IN THE LOWER TO MID 90S.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE AGAIN POSSIBLE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT.
