URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...FREEZING RAIN TO IMPACT PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST ALASKA MONDAY AND
MONDAY NIGHT...

.WARM AIR AND PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD NORTHWARD OVER THE
SOUTHWEST MAINLAND ON MONDAY AS A DEVELOPING NORTH PACIFIC LOW
TRACKS NEAR NUNIVAK ISLAND BY MONDAY EVENING. SURFACE
TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN BELOW FREEZING AS WARMER AIR MOVES IN
ALOFT...LEADING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF FREEZING RAIN FROM THE
KUSKOKWIM DELTA TO THE LOWER KUSKOKWIM VALLEY. PRECIPITATION WILL
BEGIN TO TRANSITION TO RAIN BY MONDAY EVENING ACROSS THE DELTA AS
TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING. PRECIPITATION WILL THEN CHANGE
TO ALL SNOW FROM WEST TO EAST ON TUESDAY AS COLDER AIR MOVES INTO
THE REGION.

RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM MONDAY TO 9 AM AKST
TUESDAY.

* ICE ACCUMULATION...UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH.

* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP MONDAY EVENING AND PERSIST
  THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS BEFORE TRANSITIONING TO SNOW ON
  TUESDAY AS COLDER AIR MOVES IN FROM THE WEST.

* IMPACTS...SURFACES WILL BECOME SLICK AND TRAVEL MAY BE
  DIFFICULT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR

RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM AKST MONDAY.

* ICE ACCUMULATION...UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH.

* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE COAST EARLY MONDAY
  MORNING AND SPREAD INLAND DURING THE MORNING HOURS. SURFACE
  TEMPERATURES WILL RISE ABOVE FREEZING BY MONDAY EVENING AND
  ALLOW PRECIPITATION TO TRANSITION TO RAIN BEFORE CHANGING TO ALL
  SNOW AS COLDER AIR MOVES IN ON TUESDAY.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL MAY BE DIFFICULT. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY
  ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
