MEXICO LATER THIS WEEK AND THIS WEEKEND...

.A POWERFUL AND SLOW MOVING WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL DELIVER
SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL TO HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE GILA REGION AND
SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS STARTING THURSDAY EVENING. 4 TO 8 INCHES OR
MORE OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE GILA
REGION...WHILE THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS
AND ADJACENT EAST SLOPES COULD SEE 8 TO 12 INCHES OR MORE THROUGH
EARLY SATURDAY EVENING. UP TO 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS
EXPECTED IN LOWER ELEVATIONS FOR THE GILA REGION...AND FOOTHILLS
ALONG THE WESTERN AND SOUTHERN SLOPES OF THE SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EL PASO TX/SANTA TERESA HAS
ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE
THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION: 4 TO 8 INCHES OR MORE.

* TIMING: SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THURSDAY EVENING AND END AS
  LATE AS OVERNIGHT SATURDAY.

* IMPACT: HEAVY WET SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE AT HIGHER
  ELEVATIONS...MAKING TRAVEL DIFFICULT OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES. HEAVY
  SNOWS COULD COMPROMISE THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF SOME ROOFTOPS.
  DANGEROUSLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES ALSO POSSIBLE IN HEAVY SNOW. AS
  SNOW LEVELS FALL...ROADS AT HIGH ELEVATIONS WILL BECOME ICY AND
  SNOW PACKED.

* WINDS:EAST TO SOUTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH.

* SNOW LEVELS: MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW SHOWERS WILL INITIALLY BEGIN
  ABOVE 8000 FEET THURSDAY NIGHT...FALLING NEAR 6000 FEET AT TIMES
  THROUGH THE EVENT.

  ELEVATIONS AND ALONG EASTERN SLOPES. 3 TO 6 INCHES OVER LOWER
  WESTERN AND SOUTHERN SLOPES.

* TIMING: SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THURSDAY EVENING AND END AS
  LATE AS OVERNIGHT SATURDAY.

* IMPACT: HEAVY WET SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE AT HIGHER
  ELEVATIONS...MAKING TRAVEL DIFFICULT OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES. HEAVY
