.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ALOFT WILL DROP SOUTHEASTWARD FROM THE
GREAT LAKES ACROSS THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN REGION TONIGHT. MUCH
COLDER AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION WITH THIS SYSTEM THIS
EVENING...CHANGING RAIN TO SNOW FROM HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE
EVENING INTO THE LOWER ELEVATIONS AFTER MIDNIGHT. BRISK NORTHWEST
WINDS AND VERY COLD TEMPERATURES ALOFT WILL ENHANCE SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ABOVE 2500 FEET...ESPECIALLY ON NORTHWEST FACING
SLOPES. THE SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO EVENTUALLY DIMINISH BY
LATE SATURDAY EVENING.

* EVENT...SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS BETWEEN 4 AND 8 INCHES ARE
  EXPECTED FOR MOST LOCATIONS ABOVE 2500 FEET. ELEVATIONS BELOW
  2500 FEET SHOULD RECEIVE BETWEEN 1 AND 4 INCHES.

* TIMING...RAIN WILL INITIALLY CHANGE TO SNOW FRIDAY AFTERNOON
  OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS...WITH THE SNOW LEVEL LOWERING DOWN
  INTO VALLEY LOCATIONS AFTER MIDNIGHT. SNOW SHOWERS WILL LIKELY
