...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THURSDAY TO NOON AKST
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow which is in effect from 6 AM
Thursday to noon AKST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer
in effect.

* SNOW...with 8 to 13 inches.

* BLOWING SNOW...locally reducing visibility to one half mile or
  less at times.

* WINDS...East 10 to 20 mph gusting to 40 mph.

* WIND CHILL...to 40 below.

* TIMING...Snow developing tonight and becoming heavy at times
  through the day Thursday and Thursday night before tapering off
  Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Visibility may be greatly reduced. Travel and outdoor
  activities will be difficult.

Storm Warning for heavy snow which is in effect from noon
Thursday to 3 PM AKST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer
in effect.

* SNOW...with 8 to 18 inches.

* TIMING...Snow developing early Thursday and becoming heavy
  Thursday afternoon and continue heavy through the night before
  tapering off Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Visibility may be greatly reduced. Travel and outdoor
  activities will be difficult.

THURSDAY NIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Blizzard
Warning which is in effect from 6 AM Thursday to midnight AKST
Thursday night. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* LOCATION...North of Cape Espenberg.

* SNOW...7 to 14 inches.

* BLOWING SNOW...reducing visibility to one quarter mile or less.

* WINDS...East at 25 to 35 mph gusting to 45 mph.

* TIMING...Conditions will deteriorate early Thursday to near
  whiteout then improve in the late evening as winds diminish.

* IMPACTS...Visibility will be very poor and snow will accumulate
  into drifts. Whiteout conditions should be expected. Travel and
  outdoor activities will be difficult.

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions in
blowing snow with strong winds and very poor visibilities are
occurring or expected.

Warning which is in effect from 3 AM Thursday to midnight AKST
Thursday night. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* SNOW...with 4 to 9 inches.

* BLOWING SNOW...Reducing visibility to one quarter mile or less.

* WINDS...East to southeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

* TIMING...Conditions will deteriorate overnight as winds increase
  and snow moves into the area creating near whiteout conditions,
  then improve late Thursday as the winds and snow diminish.

* IMPACTS...Visibility will be very poor and snow will accumulate
  into drifts. Whiteout conditions should be expected. Travel and
  outdoor activities will be difficult.
