...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN LINCOLN AND
SOUTHWESTERN CHAVES COUNTIES THROUGH 1230 PM MDT...

At 1147 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles south of Tinnie, or 24 miles east of Ruidoso, moving northeast
at 10 mph towards U.S. Highway 70 and 380.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hondo, Tinnie, San Patricio, and Sunset.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor your preferred
media outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for additional information and
possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.
