AFTER A VERY COLD NOVEMBER...DECEMBER 2014 WAS WARMER AND DRIER FOR
THE BISMARCK AREA. THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS 19.8 DEGREES
WHICH WAS 3.6 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL 16.2 DEGREES. PRECIPITATION
TOTALED 0.11 HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH...WHICH IS 0.38 HUNDREDTHS OF AN
INCH DRIER THAN THE NORMAL 0.49 HUNDREDTHS. THE DECEMBER SNOW FALL
TOTAL FOR BISMARCK WAS 2.4 INCHES...WHICH WAS 6.9 INCHES BELOW THE
NORMAL 9.3 INCHES FOR DECEMBER. THERE WERE NO TEMPERATURE OR
PRECIPITATION RECORDS SET FOR BISMARCK.  THE WINDIEST DAY WAS ON THE
15TH WHEN THE WINDSPEED AVERAGED 17.1 MPH. THE HIGHEST WIND GUST WAS
38 DEGREES FROM THE NORTHWEST ALSO ON THE 15TH.
HIGH TEMPERATURES IN JANUARY NORMALLY BEGIN IN THE LOWER 20S AND
RISE INTO THE MID 20S BY THE END OF THE MONTH. OVERNIGHT LOW
TEMPERATURES LINGER IN THE LOWER SINGLE DIGITS THROUGH THE MONTH.
JANUARY IS EXPECTED TO START OUT COLDER THAN NORMAL...WITH EQUAL
CHANCES OF ABOVE OR BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION.
