Across the northern high plains and the southern Canadian
Prairies gusty winds and overcast conditions were rapidly spreading
south. Snow and rain showers were occurring in the Dakotas and
Minnesota. Northwest winds to 50 mph were common across the region,
with temperatures ranging from the 30s north, to the 40s south.

For the rest of today, expect winds will gradually diminish through
the afternoon, with mainly cloudy conditions continuing. Expect
spotty areas of rain or snow, with highs in the 20s north, to upper
40s in southern South Dakota.

A brief warmup Tuesday, then cooler air returns Wednesday and
Thursday. Not much in the way of precipitation until the weekend,
when better chances for rain and snow are expected.
