Strong northwesterly winds have created periods of significant
blowing and drifting snow in northeast Montana and across much of
North Dakota. Expect travel conditions to be hazardous. Also be
prepared for dangerous wind chills; values between 25 and 40 below
zero are forecast to persist through the day for much of North
Dakota and northern Minnesota.

Another round of extremely cold conditions are in the forecast for
tonight. Lows will range from the 20s below zero in southern Canada,
to the single digits above in southern South Dakota. Wind chill
values will near 40 below zero in northern and eastern areas of the
region tonight through early Friday morning.
