Even hotter today across the northern plains. Highs will be in the
90s to 105 degrees. Much of the region will experience heat index
values in the lower 100s. If you are outside today drink plenty of
water and take time to rest in the shade.

Scattered thunderstorms are also expected today. Some storms,
especially across the north, could be severe with large hail and
damaging winds. There is also an isolated threat of tornadoes with
these storms.

Hot conditions will continue through the work week with slightly
cooler temperatures for the weekend.
