At 742 AM CDT/642 AM MDT/, trained weather spotters reported a strong
thunderstorm 6 miles south of Williston, moving southeast at 45 mph.

Penny size hail will be possible with these storms. A line of storms
were forming from Culbertson Montana in Roosevelt county, eastward
along the Missouri river and lake Sakakawea in North Dakota.

Locations impacted include...
Williston, Watford City, Stanley, Killdeer, New Town, Tioga, Ray,
Alexander, Dunn Center, Arnegard, Epping, Ross, Palermo, Bonetrail,
Van Hook Park, Mandaree, Belden, Little Missouri State Park, Fort
Union Trading Post and East Fairview.

Very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning are occurring with these
storms.

If you are on or near lake Sakakawea, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Do not be caught on the
water in a thunderstorm.
