...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern
Newberry, northwestern Lexington and northwestern Richland Counties
through 445 PM EDT...

At 418 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Dreher Island State Park, or 12 miles southwest of VC Summer Nuclear
Station, moving east at 30 mph.

...Boaters on Lake Murray Should Seek Safe Harbor...

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lexington, Irmo, Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam, Ballentine, Dreher
Island State Park, Chapin, Little Mountain, Peak, Lighthouse Marina,
Oswald Park, Lake Murray Marina, Shull Island, Bundrick Island,
Fairview Fire Station, Putnam`s Landing, Siesta Cove Marina, White
Rock, Rocky Point Recreation Area, Pine Island, and Melvin Park.

This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 84 and 102.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central South Carolina.
