The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 600 AM HST.

* At 247 AM HST, the most intense rainfall has moved southeast of
  Kauai, but rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour continue over the
  southern side of the island. The Kauai Emergency Management Agency
  reported that evacuations have taken place near Koloa and Wailua.
  Additional rainfall is expected to continue over the next several
  hours.

  HAZARD...Heavy rain producing life threatening flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management.

  IMPACT...Significant and life threatening flooding in
           drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and
           other low lying areas. Multiple public road closures
           expected, as well as landslides in steep terrain.

* This warning includes the entire island of Kauai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even
if they are currently dry.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don`t drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

This warning may need to be extended beyond 600 AM HST if flooding
persists.
