Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
411 AM CDT Thu May 9 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A band of showers and thunderstorms will move across the area
this morning, generally from northwest to southeast. Some of
the thunderstorms could produce severe weather, including
damaging wind gusts and tornadoes. Rainfall could be locally
heavy with the storms this morning, with totals more than two
inches in some locations. The rain should taper off from west
to east this morning, largely exiting the area to the southeast
by about midday. The relatively high mixing heights forecast
for today are in anticipation of partial clearing sky conditions
this afternoon.

Another bout of rain may occur tonight, but the bulk of the
activity is expected to be well to our south. Only 20-30% chances
for rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for tonight.

Fog potential over the next few days: None expected

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None
