...THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 NM...
  New York Harbor...

At 337 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of
producing brief heavy rain and lightning. The waters are also under
a gale warning. These thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 nm west of South Amboy to near Cliffwood Beach to 7
nm southwest of Fair Haven to Belmar to near Axel Carlson Reef,
moving north at 75 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds, locally higher waves, and lightning
strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these
storms pass.
