.DISCUSSION...
A period of unsettled weather is expected across the region today
through much of next week, as scattered to numerous showers and
thunderstorms will affect the area. The first upper level disturbance
will eject northeast from the Southern into the Central Plains
today, with numerous showers and thunderstorms increasing later
this morning through the afternoon across Northeast Texas, Southeast
Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas, before weakening by this evening.
Isolated strong to severe storms can`t be ruled out, but strong
southerly 20ft winds of 15-20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph are expected
late this morning into the afternoon. Any showers and storms Saturday
will be more isolated, but strong southerly 20ft winds will continue
as they range from 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Showers and
thunderstorms will again increase over East Texas, Southeast Oklahoma,
and Southwest Arkansas Sunday ahead of the next ejecting upper level
disturbance, before spreading across the remainder of the region
Sunday night and Monday, with locally heavy rainfall possible.
Additional storms will be possible Tuesday through Friday, with
the potential for at least isolated severe storms and heavy rainfall
each day.
