.DISCUSSION...Afternoon relative humidity values will bottom out
in the single digits in the lower elevations of the Mojave Desert
this afternoon. The southern Great Basin and higher elevations of
the Mojave Desert will see afternoon RH`s in the teens. An
approaching system will bring 25 mph to 40 mph northerly wind
gusts to the southern Great Basin region today. As this system
moves into our forecast area overnight into Wednesday, we will see
these winds funnel down the Colorado River Valley and into
eastern San Bernardino County with 40+ mph wind gusts expected in
these areas. This system will also knock temperatures down a few
degrees, allowing for a slight recovery in minimum RH values
Wednesday afternoon. Beyond Wednesday we will find ourselves in a
warming trend with above normal temperatures returning by the
weekend. With this warming trend we will see afternoon RH values
fall back into the single digits for lower elevations and the
teens for higher elevations.
