UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE WHICH DOMINATED THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION
BROUGHT UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES TO NORTH CENTRAL AND
NORTHEASTERN COLORADO THE FIRST HALF OF NOVEMBER. DENVER EXCEEDED 60
DEGREES EACH OF THE FIRST 16 DAYS OF THE MONTH WHILE REACHING OR
EXCEEDING 70 DEGREES 7 TIMES.

ON THE 16TH...DENVER REACHED 80 DEGREES WHICH IS THE LATEST EIGHTY
DEGREE TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED IN DENVER WEATHER HISTORY AND FOR
THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. THE ONLY OTHER NOVEMBER DAY IN WHICH THE
TEMPERATURE REACHED THE 80 DEGREE MARK WAS NOVEMBER 8TH 2006.
AS OF THE 16TH...DENVER WAS ON PACE TO BE THE 3RD WARMEST NOVEMBER
ON RECORD...WITH ONLY 1934 AND 1999 BEING WARMER. HOWEVER ON THE
17TH...THERE WAS A PATTERN CHANGE WITH A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL
TROUGHS AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONTS MOVING ACROSS THE STATE THE
SECOND HALF OF THE MONTH. AS A RESULT...BY MONTHS END DENVER DROPPED
INTO TENTH PLACE FOR WARMEST NOVEMBERS.

PRECIPITATION WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL FOR THE MONTH WITH BELOW
NORMAL SNOWFALL. THE FIRST SNOWFALL FOR THE SEASON FELL ON THE 17TH
WHICH IS THIRD LATEST SNOWFALL IN DENVER WEATHER HISTORY. THE
LATEST SNOWFALL OCCURRED NOVEMBER 21ST, 1934.

TEMPERATURES:

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE
MONTH WAS 45.1 DEGREES F, WHICH WAS 6.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS
MAKES NOVEMBER 2016 THE 10TH WARMEST ON RECORD. THE WARMEST NOVEMBER
ON RECORD OCCURRED IN 1949...WITH AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF
50.9 DEGREES F. THE COLDEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD WAS 22.0 DEGREES F
WAY BACK IN 1880. ON THE 16TH...THE TEMPERATURE CLIMBED TO 80
DEGREES F WHICH EQUALED THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF
