SUMMARY...JULY WAS GENERALLY CHARACTERIZED BY UPPER LEVEL TROUGHING
FROM WESTERN CANADA INTO MUCH OF THE WESTERN U.S. THIS LED TO A MORE
ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN ACROSS MONTANA...INCLUDING A SEVERE WEATHER
EVENT ALONG THE HI-LINE ON THE NIGHT OF JULY 4TH THAT PRODUCED
DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL. TEMPERATURES VARIED QUITE A BIT THROUGH THE
MONTH...BUT MANY LOCATIONS ENDED UP VERY CLOSE TO NORMAL. WITH THE
ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN...MANY LOCATIONS REPORTED NEAR TO SLIGHTLY
ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPIATION. IN HAVRE...HOWEVER...TOTAL PRECIPITATION
WAS 1.63 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL MAKING IT THE 14TH WETTEST JULY ON
RECORD.
