.Rivers and streams near the south-facing Blue Ridge are already
swollen from the rain that has fallen over the area since early
Thursday. Periods of rainfall will continue into early evening
and may cause additional flooding. Thus the Flood Watch remains in
effect.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Areas along the south-facing Blue Ridge Escarpment. This
  includes Rabun County Georgia, plus Henderson, Macon, Southern
  Jackson, and Transylvania counties in North Carolina.

* until 7 PM EST this evening

* Persistent moderate rain ahead of a cold front will occur this
  afternoon into early evening. Another inch of rain may fall.

* Rises on rivers in the watch area could lead to flooded
  farmland, flooded low water crossings, and high water on some
  roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
