...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 AM CDT FOR
SOUTHERN ZAPATA AND WEST CENTRAL JIM HOGG COUNTIES...

AT 839 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING
HEAVY RAIN ACROSS CENTRAL ZAPATA COUNTY INCLUDING SR 16 BETWEEN
ZAPATA AND ESCOBAS AND HIGHWAY 83 BETWEEN ZAPATA AND SAN YGNACIO.
FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY CONTINUING IN SOME OF THESE AREAS.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
ZAPATA...BUSTAMANTE...MEDINA...ZAPATA MIDDLE SCHOOL...LAS PALMAS...
ESCOBAS...ZAPATA HIGH SCHOOL...FALCON LAKE ESTATES...ZAPATA COUNTY
PUBLIC LIBRARY AND FALCON SHORES.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS POSSIBLE IN THE
WARNED AREA ON TOP OF THE 1 INCH THAT HAS FALLEN SINCE 730 AM. IN
TOTAL...AN ESTIMATED 4 TO 8 INCHES HAS FALLEN IN THE WARNED AREA.
THE RAIN BANDS ARE GRADUALLY SHIFTING NORTHWEST AND THE WARNING WILL
LIKELY BE ALLOWED TO EXPIRE AT 915 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

PLEASE REPORT FLOODING TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WHEN YOU
CAN DO SO SAFELY. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES TO SR 16 AND HIGHWAY 83 OUT
OF ZAPATA CITY UNTIL THE RAINS TAPER OFF AND FLOODING SUBSIDES.
