The National Weather Service in JACKSON KY has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  Southeastern Martin County in northeastern Kentucky...
  Southeastern Floyd County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Pike County in southeastern Kentucky...

* Until 530 PM EDT

* At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
  Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Pikeville, Coal Run Village, Elkhorn City, Wheelwright, Forest
  Hills, East McDowell, Huddy, Meta, Jamboree, Pilgrim, Fishtrap
  Lake, Garden Village, Aluba, McDowell, Piso, Betsy Layne,
  Toonerville, Ivel, Dorton and Honaker.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
